From the Office to the Field--Cybersecurity Effectiveness for IT and OT
From the Office to the Field--Cybersecurity Effectiveness for IT and OT

Event Description

60% of OT organizations have experienced a malware intrusion in the past year, and 77% have only partial centralized visibility on the cybersecurity of their operational environments. These are among the findings of a June 2020 Fortinet survey of operations leaders across manufacturing, energy, utilities, oil and gas and other industrial environments.

Industrial organizations manage expensive and sophisticated equipment at their plants–and the systems that run the machinery are increasingly being connected to the internet. The cybersecurity implications of this trend are substantial, including possible threats to physical safety, and in some cases, national security. As the production environment increasingly becomes digitized, securing the growing number of enabled IoT devices while maintaining safe and secure operations is top priority.

Listen in as Rick Peters, Fortinet's CISO for Operational Technology in North America, and Kip Greenstreet, CEO and Ryan Rolfsmeier, VP, Engineering from Twin Eagle Consulting explore current challenges faced by asset owners and operators as physical and cyber processes converge. The session will explore cybersecurity trends impacting industrial organizations and use cases on how to address these challenges.  At the conclusion of this session, you will learn about:

  • Security for aging equipment and its impact on safety, uptime and time-to-market
  • Improving redundancy and security to ensure uptime while reducing costs to support reliable communication across the enterprise
  • Solutions purpose-built to secure industrial controls and SCADA systems in any environment
