LAKE FOREST, Calif., Dec. 19, 2007 - Wonderware released Equipment Operations Module version 2.1, an MES module which is designed to help manufacturers and other industrial operations significantly improve the consistency and effectiveness of plant operations. This latest version includes enhanced features for lowering the maintenance and administration costs of overall operations management.
Support for database clustering using Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition, as well as improved capabilities for data archiving and restoring mechanisms, add significant value for customers in recording complete as built records of production events. In addition, the new MES module provides for consistent execution of plant floor activities with central management of formula parameters, including the downloading of automatic parameters to PLCs.
“Not only did the readers of Control Engineering select the Equipment Operations Module for the Engineers Choice Award earlier this year, Wonderware also has seen continued customer adoption across a wide range of industries,” said Claus Abildgren, marketing program manager for production and performance management software solutions at Wonderware. “Customers have implemented the product in both traditional consumer goods manufacturing industries and in the pharmaceutical market, where strict regulatory requirements fuel the need to keep data securely stored and continuously available for business improvement activities.
This latest release was developed in response to the ever-growing requirement to improve the ability of customers to expand incrementally and support business improvement strategies with a sustainable technology infrastructure.” Wonderware will continue to release several new and updated MES software modules for production and performance management. These software solutions are being built on the proven ArchestrA industrial service-oriented architecture, and integrated with the recently acquired Factelligence technology to provide customers enhanced capabilities to improve manufacturing business processes.
