Wonderware West Promotes Mike Barber to President

Barber succeeds Dennis Gillespie, former President of Wonderware West, who retired.

May 21, 2012 - Wonderware West named Mike Barber as President effective immediately. Peter Maxwell, Managing Director of Cooper Crouse-Hinds MTL, says ,“Mike has gained exceptional experience in our business over 20 years, the last six years of which were served as vice president of sales. He is ideally placed to further develop our Wonderware West team and to execute the growth initiatives that we have established in the Wonderware West strategy.” In the years prior to joining Wonderware West, Barber worked for the Fisher Controls (Emerson) Representative responsible for the Distributed Control Systems and SCADA applications business throughout the Rocky Mountains.

In 1993, he helped form a Wonderware distribution company in Denver which later was merged into what is known today as Wonderware West. Barber holds an Electrical Engineering Degree from Christian Brothers University located in Memphis, TN. In commenting on his new appointment, Barber stated, "The Invensys Wonderware product portfolio combined with the synergies of the larger Cooper Industries Group of companies has enabled significant growth in our primary markets. We continue to leverage the resources from both organizations to explore new organic and inorganic growth opportunities not available to a traditional industrial product distributor.” Barber succeeds Dennis Gillespie, former President of Wonderware West, who has retired from his leadership position.
