The SST controls I/O devices connected to a DeviceNet network without the need of a local PC.

October 2, 2007, Lincolnshire, IL USA. - Woodhead announced the BradCommunications SST Remote DeviceNet Scanner. The SST Remote DeviceNet Scanner controls I/O devices connected to a DeviceNet network without the need of a local PC. DIN rail mountable, up to 16 SST Remote DeviceNet Scanners can be connected back to a PC over Ethernet.

The PC allows users to remotely access diagnostic information on the SST Remote DeviceNet Scanner and the DeviceNet network.Traditionally, when running a PC control application, one PC, installed with one network interface card was required for each DeviceNet network. Now with the introduction of the BradCommunications SST Remote DeviceNet Scanner (part number: SST-EDN-1), a PC for each network is no longer required. The SST Remote DeviceNet Scanner has many benefits including faster DeviceNet IO updates compared to using the traditional SST PCI format solution, eliminates the cost of additional PCs, and frees up slots on existing PCs by moving the DeviceNet scanner functionality to a remote location.

For those users wanting to move from using SST DeviceNet network interface cards to the SST Remote DeviceNet Scanner, the DLL is backward compatible, allowing preservation of your existing investment. The company offers a complete line of DeviceNet solutions which empower the industrial infrastructure including PC & PLC interfaces, gateways, diagnostic tools, cable, cordsets, connectors, receptacles, distribution boxes and IP67 on-machine I/O modules.
