February 27, 2014 - Yokogawa Electric released an enhanced version of the FCN-RTU lSTARDOM network-based control system for the natural gas industry.

Product Features

1. Increased number of I/O modules The enhanced FCN-RTU can now accommodate eight (8) I/O modules, up from the previous three, and can easily handle 256 input/output signals. This is well within the requirements of the latest unconventional natural gas well monitoring and control applications. 2. Improved environmental resistance An additional 10 STARDOM FCN-RTU I/O modules are now rated for use in temperatures ranging from −20°C to +70°C.

These enhanced components are thus well suited for use in the very cold or hot weather conditions that can be encountered at natural gas drilling sites. 3. Liquid and Gas Flow Meter Calculations STARDOM supports both liquid and gas calculations that are compliant with API and AGA standards. Each STARDOM FCN-RTU supports up to 8 gas flow and 8 liquid flow runs. The STARDOM based WellProducer application allows users to configure multiple wells per pad and automate the well pad for optimized plunger lift control, pressure and flow monitoring and control, bath heater control, gas metering, liquid metering, emergency shutdown, and remote monitoring.

Its innovative browser based configuration reduces the effort for deploying a well pad and enables rapid commissioning. Simply select the devices and the flow calculations and STARDOM corrects for gas, water, and oil to deliver corrected metering for gas and oil along with reporting produced water and water cut.
