IXXAT and Interniche Technologies announces the release of NicheStack™ IPv6, a new embedded TCP/IP protocol stack which supports the IPv6 protocol. The development of the IPv6 standard became necessary due to the fact that the number of available IPv4 based IP addresses seem to run out in the near future. Due to the provision of significantly more IP addresses, IPv6 will replace IPv4 especially in an increasing number of new product designs. IXXAT also provides a dual NicheStack™ IPv4/IPv6 stack for applications which need to support both modes at one time. Further additions are the IPSec toolkit, a IP Security Protocol (IPSec) and the Internet Key Protocol (IKE) providing secure data exchange via internet.

Various other extensions like PPP, FTP, e-mail-alerter, web-server and many more are completing the family of highly modular web-based software packages. These software stacks set themselves apart from others with a very low memory consumption, an optimized performance which results in a low CPU load. All software modules can be operated in a super loop or in combination with an operating system. All NicheStack™ protocol stack include NicheTool™, an already integrated debug interface which reduces the implementation effort to a minimum and assists engineers in porting, debugging and tuning the performance of the application. Besides the TCP/IP and related protocol stacks, IXXAT offers also software and hardware development services as well as implementation support for various applications.
