December 17, 2009 - Nivis LLC, a developer and integrator of wireless network technologies, announces Doug Johns, Chairman of the Board of Directors, has assumed the position of Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Johns started his career with IBM Corporation. At IBM Mr. Johns helped grow the Personal Computer business, located in Boca Raton, Florida, from 1982 to 1983. At the end of 1983, Mr. Johns joined Compaq Computer Corporation in Houston, Texas. During his tenure, Compaq’s business grew from $100 million to $3 billion. Mr. Johns left Compaq as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Personal Computer Division.In 1995, Mr. Johns founded a supply chain management company that produced the Monorail and “build-to-order” IBM NetVista personal computer.In 2002, Mr. Johns joined Internet Security Systems (ISS), Atlanta, Georgia, as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Operations. While at ISS, Mr. Johns’ team accomplished a significant turnaround by introducing the Proventia line of products. Ongoing worldwide responsibilities included: Marketing, Product Development, Engineering, Information Systems, Customer Support, ISS Managed Services, Supply Chain Management and Manufacturing. Mr. Johns left ISS in January, 2006.Mr. Johns, commenting on the opportunity at Nivis, said “I have been fortunate in my career to see firsthand the rise of the personal computer and the internet. I believe Nivis is at the forefront of yet another significant technology revolution with the proliferation of embedded wireless software and devices.
