April 7, 2015 - Avid Solutions announced the official groundbreaking for the new Avid Solutions headquarters located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. With the fast growth of their international industrial automation business, Avid required more space than their current headquarters accommodates. A six acre site, acquired in 2014, is located in close proximity to the current office, near the intersection of Highway 311 and Ridgewood Road.
Avid's 20,000 square foot office will integrate many customers' products and technologies into a state of the art engineering center. The facility, comprised of a conventional steel structure and membrane roofing, will incorporate many sustainable characteristics, including a roof-mounted solar array, daylighting, LED lighting, and electric vehicle charging stations.
As a strong supporter of other local businesses, Avid selected two Winston-Salem based companies to serve as partners during the construction process. Landmark Builders was hired as the general contractor and West & Stem as the architect. Construction began this week and is scheduled to be complete by the end of the year.
