DEC will use the new SCADA system to monitor and control all 23 of its distribution substations, 87 feeders in all, as well as radial transmission substations.

October 3, 2016 - Open Systems International, Inc. (OSI) has been awarded a contract by Delaware Electric Cooperative (DEC) to supply a new SCADA system based on OSI's monarch (Multi-platform Open Network ARCHitecture) platform.

Delaware Electric Cooperative is Delaware's only non-profit electric company, focused on service and reliability. DEC is a rural electric utility serving over 90,000 electric members in Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware. DEC will use the new SCADA system to monitor and control all 23 of its distribution substations, 87 feeders in all, as well as radial transmission substations. DEC will also interface its Eaton Yukon Feeder Automation to the new SCADA system to bring in information from more field devices.

DEC’s SCADA system includes OSI's next-generation, .NET based Graphical User Interface (GUI), Communications Front-end Processor, Calculation and Scripting Subsystem, Real-time and Historical Trending, Advanced Alarm Management System, Short Term Load Forecasting, Data Engineering and Maintenance Subsystem, ODBC and SNMP Interface, Historical Information System and Data Archiving, MultiSpeak Interfaces and Inter-control Center Communications Protocol. The new OSI system replaces a legacy ACS system.
