Automation Insights: Building IT Platforms for AI and Connected Vehicle Telemetry
Renee Bassett, chief editor of Automation.com, the Publications arm of ISA, talks with Mark Menger of F5 about building an infrastructure that reliably ingests and protects telemetry data and makes it usable for the industrial AI that drives real time decisions and long term insights.
Whether they’re supporting warehouse AGVs, mining haul trucks or other industrial mobile vehicles, industrial automation and control systems engineers who build and manage telemetry applications are not just worried about getting data from A to B. They’re building an infrastructure that reliably ingests and protects sensor streams, diagnostic logs, location and status updates and more, and makes it usable for the AI that drives real time decisions and long term insights.
Mark provides insights on designing secure edge and cloud computing platforms, how IT and OT best practices complement each other, and how to handle issues like system updates or high-density data like LIDAR and video feeds.
