New center to provide support and services for expanding Asian market Singapore, January 18, 2007 — ABB announced today that it has opened a dedicated Control Systems and Products Regional Action Center (RAC) in Singapore to serve its customers in the rapidly growing Asian market. The RAC will provide technical and training support for automation customers, as well as include regional sales support, marketing and business development functions. The opening ceremony for the RAC, which is now fully operational, took place on January 16, 2007.
"This Regional Action Center is part of our ongoing commitment to serve our customers in Asia with the automation technology, expertise, and services they need to be more profitable," said Veli-Matti Reinikkala, head of ABB's Process Automation division. "It also is another important step in our global growth strategy for our Control Systems and Products businesses to increase our market share in this fast-growing region." The Singapore Regional Action Center will provide technical, training, and sales support for control systems and products throughout the Asian region.
These products include ABB's wide range of control system solutions, including System 800xA Extended Automation, as well as individual control system components such as control hardware and software, I/O, and related control system software applications. "Our goal is to help our customers be more successful in their businesses; this local focus will help us to work more closely with our regional customers and sales partners to deliver successful solutions" said Michael Zhang, ABB Group Vice President and manager of ABB's Singapore Regional Action Center. ABB's Process Automation Division serves customers with integrated solutions for control, plant optimization, and industry-specific application knowledge.
