October 1, 2007 - ABB gives the global premier of the next generation FlexPicker delta robots at Pack Expo in Las Vegas, 15-17 October 2007 – on booth C4017. Apart from even greater performance, the new delta robot has a significantly increased payload of up to 4kg – opening up further application possibilities, especially at the end of line.Several important objectives have been met in the new generation design. The robot has been configured to enable easy cleaning and reduced maintenance. The theta axis has been made even more accurate and robust, while collision resistance and consequence reduction has been improved.
The smaller footprint enables valuable space to be kept to a minimum and allows it to be built into various applications. Finally, the new robot has been value engineered to keep price performance.Called the FlexPicker IRB360, the new robot family will initially see three models available. Stainless steel versions are available for washdown duties such as in meat and dairy handling applications.Complementing the new generation FlexPickers is ABB’s proven PickMaster software that makes programming simple.
