ABB’s Robotics and Discrete Automation business is expanding its presence in Ireland with the opening of a new office in Dundalk, Co Louth. Part of a new multi-million-dollar facility, the office will provide customers with access to sales, service, and support for a full range of automated technologies including ABB’s industrial and mobile robots and machine automation solutions from B&R, a member of the ABB Group. “As the only company that can offer a complete portfolio of machine automation, robotics and mobile autonomous robot solutions, we are well placed to act as a single source partner to help companies of all sizes find ways to make their manufacturing processes smarter and more efficient,” said Nigel Platt, Local Business Unit Manager, Robotics, UK and Ireland.

According to a 2021 report by Fortune Business Insights [1] , the Irish market for industrial automation is set to grow at a rate of 10 percent between 2021 and 2028, from USD 1.33 billion to USD 2.9 billion, as companies look for ways to apply the latest technologies including robotics, artificial intelligence and augmented reality to help boost their productivity, flexibility and resilience. “Expanding our presence in Ireland with a base for our sales, service and application teams and working alongside our colleagues in ABB Robotics gives us a great opportunity to develop new ways to support our customers,“ said Colin Dullaghan, B&R regional manager for Ireland.
