Control system upgrade to improve plant efficiency
Wickliffe, Ohio – August 30, 2004 -- ABB, the leading power and automation technology group, has received a $1.6 million order for a Symphony Enterprise Management and Control System to replace an outdated control system and improve unit performance at Mirant Corporation’s 210 MW gas-fired Potrero power plant in San Francisco. Mirant selected ABB as their new supplier of automation systems through a competitive bid process. The new control system project scope includes combustion control, burner management, motor control, turbine control, balance of plant, device interfaces, human machine interface, and engineering tools. ABB will also provide design, testing, installation, and start-up services for the project.
