Västerås, Sweden, February 11, 2008 – ABB signed a contract with Jinchuan Group Limited (JNMC), to supply a mine hoist to its nickel mine in Jinchang, an industrial city in the eastside of the Hexi Corridor in Gansu Province, China. JNMC is the number one nickel producer in China. The new mine hoist will be used to bring ore from a new mining level up to the surface. ABB’s scope of supply includes, among other things, both mechanical and electrical equipment such as pulley and shaft, brake system, System 800xA control system, motors, drive system ACS 6000 SD, transformers, as well as project commissioning.
