ABB to upgrade automation at Styron

ABB will update Styron facilities on a global basis with System 800xA process automation control and safety instrumented systems.

May 1, 2012 – ABB will upgrade automation and safety systems at chemical manufacturer Styron to ABB’s System 800xA platform. Styron is headquartered in Berwyn, Pennsylvania and has manufacturing plants strategically located in many countries around the world. The ABB scope of supply includes updating Styron facilities on a global basis over a multi-year period with System 800xA process automation control and safety instrumented systems. ABB will also provide engineering, installation supervision and commissioning as well as maintenance support service solutions, such as customer training. Phase one of this seven-year automation upgrade program began in the first quarter of 2012 with a front end engineering and design (FEED) study.
