ACKSYS introduces WLg-IDA/NP [P] wireless access point

March 21, 2010 - ACKSYS introduces the WLg-IDA/NP [P] wireless access point for automation applications. WLg-IDA/N [P] can be configured as an Access Point, an Ethernet Bridge or a WDS repeater, in infrastructure and AD-HOC modes. It also supports the MODBUS/TCP, PROFINET and Ethernet/IP industrial protocols.

It supports the IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/h/n WiFi standards (2.4 / 5 / 5.4 GHz), for a maximum data rate of 108 Mbps in the super A/G mode and an output power of 100 mW (400 mW optional). Electronic is enclosed in a 35 mm DIN rail mountable IP¨30 metallic case with a removable 2dBI antenna (RSMA connector) for a 300m coverage range; a second antenna connector makes it possible to use the product in the diversity mode to improve the radio link quality.

The device is powered from a +9VDC to +36VDC dual input source (4.5W), it can be also be powered from the data cable according to the IEEE 802.3af standard (/NP model). An alarm relay output is also provided to signal any failure on the Ethernet & radio link and power fail as well. LEDs enable to monitor LAN / WLAN activity and also to display the quality of the radio link in order to get the best result while installing the device.

The device uses a built-in switch in order to offer 2 Ethernet 10/100 ports available on two RJ45 connectors. WLg-IDA/N [P] can be managed using a web browser or SNMP. A pluggable key “C-Key” allows for quick and easy on-site replacement of the product, eliminating the need to reconfigure the replacement part or to use any other equipment. WLg-IDA/N [P] is designed for industrial applications: data collection, PLC connection … and satisfy to severe requirements in terms of operating environment: -20°C to +70°C, shockproof and vibration proof according to MIL-STD-810F standards.
