March 21, 2010 - ACKSYS introduces the WLg-IDA/S wireless serial port with a 3-in-1 electrical interface: RS232, RS422, RS485 (full duplex), up to 250 Kbps. It supports the IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/h/n WiFi standards (2.4 / 5 / 5.4 GHz) with a 100 mW output power (400 mW optional).
Electronic is enclosed in a 35 mm DIN rail mountable IP¨30 metallic case with a removable 2dBi antenna (RSMA connector) for a 300m coverage range; a second antenna connector makes it possible to use the product in the diversity mode to improve the radio link quality. The device is powered from a +9VDC to +36VDC dual input source (4.5W). An alarm relay output is also provided to signal any failure on the Serial & radio link and power fail as well. WLg-IDA/S is shipped with a virtual COM port software, it supports Point to Point (virtual cable) and multipoint modes as well as TCP Client / Server, UDP and serial MODBUS to MODBUS/TCP data gateway.
LEDs enable to monitor Serial / WLAN activity and also to display the quality of the radio link in order to get the best result while installing the device.. WLg-IDA/S can be managed using a web browser or SNMP. A pluggable key “C-Key” allows for quick and easy on-site replacement of the product, eliminating the need to reconfigure the replacement part or to use any other equipment. WLg-IDA/S is designed for industrial applications: data collection, PLC connection … and satisfy to severe requirements in terms of operating environment: -20°C to +70°C, shockproof and vibration proof according to MIL-STD-810F standards.
