PARIS – April 16, 2012 – ACKSYS Communications & Systems, French manufacturer of data communication solutions, announces the renaming of "M340 wireless companion" to "PMXNOW0300".
This renaming enrolls ACKSYS in a lasting partnership with Schneider Electric and allows the product to be referenced in its catalog. It is also an opportunity for ACKSYS to combine its expertise and strengthen its activities in the automation field. Eric Cariou, CEO of ACKSYS declares : “The strong position of Modicon™ M340 (Schneider Electric ™) gives more visibility on the market to the PMXNOW0300. This will allow us to continue the development momentum that we have already committed.”
The PMXNOW0300 wireless module is a single-slot, powered backplane, in-rack and form factor compatible solution specifically designed for a direct connection to the Modicon™ M340 platform (Schneider Electric ™). This module is a 2-in-1 combo product: it supports the functions of access point, wireless bridge and repeater (54 Mbps and 108 Mbps in turbo mode) and also the one of 3-port Ethernet switch .
It is fully compliant with Modbus/TCP, Profinet, Ethernet/IP, etc.. and incorporates the latest technologies in terms of radio safety: IEEE802.11i, IEEE 802.11x (radius) and WPA2.
PMXNOW0300 can be used for point to point or multipoint wireless communications for: -Wireless access to the M340 from Vijeo Citect or Unity Pro -Wireless access and embedded Ethernet switch capabilities -Exchange process data between PLCs -Exchange process data between PLCs through global data -PLC remote monitoring and administration
With all its attributes, PMXNOW0300 is part of the elements that complement and enhance the communication capabilities of Modicon ™ M340.
This renaming is already effective on ACKSYS’ website and on the technical and commercial documentations. This change will have no impact on the product features.
