May 31, 2011 - Acromag named Russell Nieves as international sales manager for the embedded computing division. Russ joins Acromag to expand Acromag’s presence in global markets and to service the unique needs of international customers. Working out of Acromag’s U.S. headquarters in Wixom, Michigan, Russ brings a wealth of technical and sales experience in embedded computing technologies and numerous industries including defense, aerospace, manufacturing, scientific research, and telecommunication.

He will report directly to Embedded Computing Marketing and Sales Director Joseph Primeau to manage Acromag’s international sales channels and to provide direct technical support for customers around the world. “We are excited to have Russ join our Acromag team and apply his experience and knowledge of embedded technologies to expand our service outside the Americas,” said Joe Primeau. “Over the past several years, we have seen a great increase in demand for high-performance computer boards across Europe and Asia, as well as in emerging markets such as South Africa and the Middle East.” Russ has more than 30 years of high-tech electronics industry experience and previously worked at Xembedded LLC, where he served as a regional sales manager for the eastern United States and Asia.

Earlier sales management positions involved automated manufacturing selling sensors, PLCs, HMIs and high-end vision systems. He received military electronics training at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL in addition to later college studies in business, robotics, and computer technologies. Acromag has designed and manufactured measurement and control products for more than 50 years. They are an international corporation with a world headquarters near Detroit, Michigan and a global network of sales representatives and distributors. Acromag offers a complete line of embedded I/O products including bus boards, mezzanine modules, wiring accessories, and software.
