Advantech releases PC/104 4-axis motor control card
The PCM-3240 stepping/pulse-type servo motor control card starts at $845. The card's intelligent NOVA MCX341-motion ASIC provides a variety of motion control functions, such as 2/3-axis linear interpolation, 2-axis circular interpolation, and T/S-curve acceleration/deceleration rate. The PCM-3240 performs these functions without requiring any main CPU processing. The PCM-3240 fits onto a standard PC/104 board.

The PCM-3240 is a PC/104 4-axis stepping/pulse-type servo motor control card starting at $845. (Cincinnati, Ohio – 1/10/2007) - PCM-3240 PC/104 4-axis stepping/pulse-type servo motor control card simplifies stepping and pulse-type servo motor control, providing added motor performance. Most 4-axis cards cannot fit into a standard PC/104 board; they will physically interfere with other PC/104 boards in the system. The PCM-3240 has been modified to fit into a standard PC/104 board, eliminating any chance of mechanical interference in the embedded controller. The card’s intelligent NOVA MCX341-motion ASIC provides a variety of motion control functions, such as 2/3-axis linear interpolation, 2-axis circular interpolation, and T/S-curve acceleration/deceleration rate.

The PCM-3240 performs these functions without requiring any main CPU processing. Other features include: hand wheel and jog junction, 4 MPPS pulse output for each axis, CW/CCW or Pulse/Direction pulse type, 1 MHz encoder input for each axis, A/B phase or Up/Down encoder pulse, constant speed control, position management and software limit switch function. For advanced applications, a Windows APIs and user-friendly examples are supplied. Also included is a free motion utility which aids in configuration and diagnosis. The PCM-3240 starts at $845 and is available for purchase directly from Advantech.
