Web site now has the most popular product categories, including connectors, wire and cable, switches, relays, control and power products, on the home page.

July 15, 2008 - Allied Electronics launched a redesigned web site with several new features that make it easier than ever for engineers to find and order product on the site. The Allied web site – alliedelec.com – now features the most popular product categories, including connectors, wire and cable, switches, relays, control and power products, on the home page, making it quicker to drill down and find product. The product detail pages also feature a new layout to make product information and top accessories more visible. “The redesigned Allied web site was built with engineers in mind,” said Dan Stewart, Director of eCommerce at Allied.

“The new alliedelec.com makes finding and ordering product quicker and easier than ever, so engineers can get back to their design projects.” The site’s new quick order portal featuring AJAX technology allows engineers to add products to the shopping cart within seconds without reloading the page. The online shopping cart also received a face lift and a new quick add feature.

Alliedelec.com is also moving to ASP.net 2.0, leveraging Microsoft’s latest technology to improve speed and ability to bring new offers quicker.
