July 31, 2010 - AMCI’s DuraCoder ncoders are now available with stainless steel housings and an IP69K rating for operation in the most extreme conditions. AMCI DuraCoders have a superior shaft load rating; providing a longer life cycle than other encoders. Many industrial applications require encoders that withstand a variety of harsh environments. AMCI’s stainless steel DuraCoders reliably perform in applications where standard encoders fail. With a standard IP67 rating, and IP69K rated versions available, end-users can take advantage of the DuraCoder’s protection against high pressure and high temperature wash downs; or liquid ingress from long-term immersion in water or contaminants.

The DuraCoder product line comes standard with a 2.5” (63mm) housing and an oversized double row sealed bearing. Solid shaft and hub shaft versions are available with a variety of sizing options.

Shaft loadings of up to 100 lbs. radial/50 lbs. axial provide maximum durability for applications that require superior strength. DuraCoder brand encoders are available in six different versions: SSI, Digital, Analog, Incremental, DeviceNet, and Ethernet/IP. Applications that benefit from the stainless steel DuraCoder design include food/beverage processing, specialty vehicles, cranes, energy generation equipment, chemical/petroleum processing, wastewater treatment plants, offshore/marine environments, steel mills, and many other indoor and outdoor installations.
