Orion, Michigan — November 15, 2007, – Applied Manufacturing Technologies reorganized its engineering groups and established a practice area dedicated to general industry and systems integrator accounts. The new General Industry Group will include cross disciplined automation engineers from AMT’s Core Technologies, including programming, software, vision, mechanical design, controls, simulation and training. Tim Noppe, a robot industry veteran, has joined AMT to head up the new business.
The company expects the group to grow quickly to meet broad U.S. and international demand for automation engineering and consulting services. “As we continued to grow, we noticed our customers fell into two distinct groups: automotive, including major automotive OEM’s, Tier 1’s and the major line builders; and general industry including the wide range of systems integrators,” said Joe Campbell, chief operating officer for Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc.
“Each customer group had unique requests and market dynamics, and this new organization lets us deliver the best engineering and service programs for each market.”The General Industry practice will be managed from AMT corporate headquarters in Orion, MI, with resources located throughout the U.S.Tim Noppe joins AMT after successful technical, business development and executive roles with systems integrators and robot manufacturers. His background includes ABB and Fanuc robotics, as well as systems integrator Encore Automation.
