Applied Motion Releases STR3 Miniature Stepper Drive
Designed for OEMs that require a high level of performance and integration, the STR3 is intended to be used deep within the heart of the machine.

April 6, 2016- The STR3 miniature step motor drive from Applied Motion Products addresses the problem of slow step motors that vibrate too much, and it addresses space-constrained applications where bulkier drives just won’t fit. The STR3 utilizes a proprietary current control algorithm that optimizes motor performance and compact design means it’s possible to mount directly on the machine frame or tucked into small spaces between other components.

Designed for OEMs that require a high level of performance and integration, the STR3 is intended to be used deep within the heart of the machine. Accepting industry-standard digital control signals (pulse & direction), the drive can be married to a wide range of embedded and discrete controllers. The STR3 can be configured using dip switches, and there is no software required for setup. Powered by 12 to 48 volts DC, it can be specified into mobile systems as well as onto the plant floor.

Capable of providing up to 3.0 A/phase it can run a wide range of 2-phase step motors, from the smallest NEMA 8 to larger NEMA 23 and NEMA 24 frame motors.
