AS-Schneider moves to bigger valve plant in Singapore

More than one hundred valves a day will be assembled directly on-site in Singapore in the future.

August 16, 2013 - AS-Schneider Asia-Pacific moved to larger premises in Singapore. In addition to sales and the warehouse, assembly will also be integrated into the facility. AS-Schneider is among the world's leading manufacturers of industrial valves for metrology and regulation technology. The company currently employs seven people in the Far East metropolis. The small but highly motivated and qualified team has managed to double sales since their founding.

The original offices were 86 square meters of space, but since the move into the new premises on July 1 there are now 270 square meters available for additional growth – including a personnel expansion. The additional space is primarily needed for the warehouse and the newly added Assembly department. The decision to offer assembly on-site in the future was made after intensive customer discussion and will lead to faster response times. The time factor plays an important role in many large projects – for an idle nuclear power plant, for example, every hour in which operation is impossible represents a financial loss. Over a hundred valves a day will be assembled directly on-site in Singapore in the future.

"Flexibility and speed are clear competitive advantages," says Tim Kohler, Managing Director of AS-Schneider Asia-Pacific. Tim Kohler thus anticipates that the new assembly offering will increase sales even further – with one positive side effect for the company's headquarters in Nordheim: "The increased need for components will put a further strain on our production facilities in Nordheim."
