July 22, 2009 - ASM Sensors introduces the PCFP25 series, the latest addition to the POSICHRON family of magnetostrictive linear position sensors in the thinnest available industrial grade housing that is only 0.32 in. high and 1.10 in. wide.

This non-contact position sensor is maintenance-free due to magnetostrictive sensing technology and was developed for use in limited space areas. The flat profile PCFP25 series was designed for tight locations or for areas with limited access. These absolute position sensors offer analog outputs 0-10VDC and 4-20 mA. CAN-Bus versions are also available. The PCFP25 series is available with a measurement range up to 18 feet and achieves an IP64 enclosure protection rating.

The simple and flexible installation of this position transducer is accomplished with two different styles of mounting hardware. Since the PCFP25 series relays the position through the use of a non-contact position magnet, this sensor wear-free and maintenance-free. This is an industrial grade sensor which is also highly shock and vibration resistant. For safety critical applications, two PCFP25 series can be installed together either vertically or horizontally to provide two redundant outputs. Due to the ultra-compact housing size, the redundant configuration takes up much less space than other conventional position sensors.
