July 16, 2012—Avid Solutions acquired a Brazilian system integration company, SPA Automação.

SPA was founded three years ago and has nine employees in their office near São Paulo. In this short time, SPA has built an extensive list of partners and clients. During the transition, it will be known as 'SPA Automação, an Avid Solutions company.' The acquisition increases the size, stability, and diversification for the combined companies and employees.

"SPA brings distinct value to this new relationship," said PC Romano, Avid Solutions’ President. "SPA has an established team and strong client relationships. In turn, Avid brings size and credibility, systems and processes, American clients who have Brazilian operations, and financial resources."

For 25 years, Avid Solutions has been at the forefront of design and implementation of control and information solutions. Avid collaborates with clients to identify and select best-in-class platforms, design and implement systems, and provide FDA validation documentation and services. Turnkey capabilities include UL panel fabrication and installation and system commissioning. Avid has developed exceptional depth in PLC, HMI, DCS, and information applications in the following process industries: life sciences, specialty chemical, pulp & paper, and energy. Our team has demonstrated expertise in advanced process control, data historian implementation, WIP inventory tracking, OEE, Genealogy and Electronic Batch Reporting in validated environments.

Avid has systematically expanded in the Southeastern United States with offices in Winston-Salem, Raleigh, and Atlanta, and is now poised to provide its expertise and solutions to the Brazilian marketplace.
