Pittsburgh, PA (August 27, 2007) – The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) has issued a call for abstracts for its 101st Annual Conference & Exhibition, to be held June 24-27, 2008, in Portland, OR.Abstracts are solicited on current issues, case studies, and practical experience, and will be evaluated for technical quality, relevance, significance to current environmental issues, and lack of commercialism. Principal areas of interest include air, environmental management, and waste.
In addition to traditional environmental topics, 2008 abstract guidance also calls for submissions in developing areas of study, including indoor air quality, noise, exposure, animal agriculture, medical waste treatment, green building, global climate change, and land use.A&WMA welcomes original work on all environmental issues for its 2008 Annual Conference, themed “Integrating Science and Sustainability. Abstracts must be submitted by Dec. 3, 2007. Known for the high quality information it provides for environmental professionals, A&WMA extended its usual deadline for this conference to add the freshest research and ideas to its technical program, already considered by many the strongest in the industry.
“Our Centennial Conference in 2007 included one of the strongest technical programs we’ve ever offered,” said Adrianne Carolla, A&WMA Executive Director. “We expect to start our second century of environmental stewardship in Portland with an even more informative and compelling agenda.”
Professional Development Course Proposals for 2008
A&WMA is also seeking proposals for professional development courses to coincide with the 2008 Annual Conference & Exhibition in Portland.
