BashNIPIneft uses AVEVA software to model oil and gas plants in Russia

AVEVA software has been used to facilitate a number of upgrade and modernization projects on Russian plants.

April 14, 2016 – BashNIPIneft implemented AVEVA Everything3D (AVEVA E3D) and AVEVA Laser Modeller to facilitate a number of upgrade and modernization projects on Russian plants. BashNIPIneft required technology that could be implemented quickly to fully capture the as-built condition of the existing plant and provide full laser data integration with the 3D modelling environment. Designers were able to immediately assess all the work required on the facility using accurate data. This saved time by significantly minimising rework in the design office and increasing quality of the deliverables by enabling more transparent and effective processes for engineering and design work.

‘BashNIPIneft had no previous experience with laser software for brownfield project upgrades. AVEVA E3D was easy to use and the integration with brownfield laser data is amazing,’ said Erik Yumashev, Chief Engineer, BashNIPIneft. ‘The accuracy of our deliverables on this project easily meet our rigorous standards. Using AVEVA software for the capture of brownfield laser data and 3D design is one of the principal directions for development that the Institute has established for itself.’

‘This strategic purchase opens new horizons for BashNIPIneft and demonstrates the powerful business benefits of laser scanning across the project lifecycle,’ said Evgeny Fedotov, Senior Vice-President, Global Head of EPC Sales, AVEVA. ‘BashNIPIneft collected laser scanning data on-site, which was uploaded to AVEVA Laser Modeller to produce on-demand engineering deliverables. The ready-to-use 3D model was then opened directly in AVEVA E3D for ongoing design activities. Engineers can position new designs and run clash checks against the existing plant. Laser scan data dramatically reduces discrepancies and design can be done within the real 3D space of the construction site.

The AVEVA Russia team did a great job supporting our customer during deployment and throughout the project, and we are very pleased with the great success that BashNIPIneft has been able to achieve using AVEVA technology.’
