The Basler 3D Stereo mini camera is ideal for price-sensitive applications in mobile robots, warehouse drones and automation solutions.

AHRENSBURG, July 20, 2026 — Basler AG, a leading provider of machine vision components and solutions, is expanding its 3D portfolio with the Stereo mini — a compact, lightweight and cost-efficient camera developed specifically for use in robotics and logistics applications.

Easy integration and comprehensive support

The camera is best suited for short to medium depth ranges, with baselines of 50 and 95 mm. Depending on the model, USB 3.0, GigE or future GMSL interfaces are available.

The factory-calibrated stereo geometry supports reliable depth capture and reduces setup effort. Due to integration via the Basler pylon SDK, the camera can be quickly and easily integrated into existing machine vision systems.

As a single source provider, Basler offers not only the camera but also matching lighting, cables, frame grabbers and control via the pylon SDK. For specific requirements, the system can be flexibly expanded with additional software solutions that are available upon request. This creates a complete, end-to-end machine vision system from a single source. Technical support from machine vision experts and long product lifecycles ensure dependable planning and operation.

Applications with the Stereo mini 3D camera

The Stereo mini is particularly well suited for mobile robots, driverless transport systems such as AMRs and AGVs, warehouse drones and compact automation applications. Typical use cases include navigation, obstacle detection and collision avoidance, pick-and-place and the measurement of pallets and load carriers or inventory management. Reliable depth capture improves object detection even in complex scenes and under changing lighting conditions — both indoors and outdoors.

Martin Gramatke, Product Manager 3D Vision, summarized, “With the Stereo mini, 3D vision is more accessible for robotics and logistics applications. Customers receive a compact 3D camera at a cost-effective, entry-level price that can be integrated into existing computer vision environments via pylon.”
