May 6, 2010 – Hayes Control Systems has been acquired by Beckhoff and renamed Beckhoff Automation Ltd. Beckhoff has been active in the U.K. industrial marketplace since 1994 – represented exclusively and successfully by Hayes Control Systems.
The acquisition of this former Beckhoff distribution partner will help provide customers across the U.K. improved sales and support services. The headquarters of the new branch is situated to the west of London in Henley-on-Thames, England. Stephen Hayes, the founder of Hayes Control Systems, was named managing director of the new Beckhoff branch.
In addition, the entire 13-strong team was retained, so that technical expertise and close customer relationships are continued.With the acquisition of the British Beckhoff distribution office, the course has been set to intensify Beckhoff activities in the British and Irish markets. “Great Britain and Ireland are strategically important markets for Beckhoff, as numerous international companies have their headquarters and make global decisions here. Therefore, it is naturally important for us to have a strong local presence with a skilled Beckhoff team,” explains Kai Ristau, International Sales Manager at Beckhoff Automation. “Based on the good business development of Hayes Control Systems in recent years, we see added growth potential by expanding our sales in Great Britain and Ireland.
