Beckhoff, keeping with their New Automation Technology strategy, has introduced a new Bus Terminal called the DALI Bus Terminal. DALI stands for Digital Addressable Lighting Interface and is quickly becoming the new standard for building lighting control. DALI is a bit level bus system for low level control that now integrates with Beckhoff’s proven Bus Terminal product. DALI makes it easy to control fluorescent lights using DALI integrated ballasts. DALI also allows for system providers to setup lighting profiles for different levels or rooms of a building via easy to program function blocks.
Lighting installation with DALI is simpler and more cost effective than the existing solutions for automated lighting. DALI helps complete Beckhoff’s building automation solution when coupled with Beckhoff’s BK9000, BC9000, and TwinCAT Control software. Beckhoff also offers 100 plus signals with the Bus Terminal product and supports 16 plus networks including Ethernet, Devicenet, Profibus, and CanOpen. The Bus Terminals range in price from $5 per point for digital to $250 for a special function terminal.
