Belden will acquire Lumberg Automation

It is anticipated that the Lumberg Automation Components acquisition will be completed in June or July of 2007.

April 4, 2007 - Lumberg Automation Components GmbH is a leading manufacturer of industrial connectivity products for factory automation machinery with annual sales revenue of approximately $75 million in 2006. The company produces connectors for sensors and actuators, cord-sets, distribution boxes and fieldbus communication devices for many leading equipment OEMs and maintains a strong presence in the automotive, material handling, assembly, and food and beverage industries, worldwide. Lumberg Automation Components employs 300 people and is headquartered in Schalksmühle, Germany.

Its production facilities are located in Schalksmühle and Hoyerswerda, Germany as well as in Richmond, Virginia.Belden is a leader in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of signal transmission products for data networking and focuses on a wide range of specialty electronics markets with application expertise in entertainment, industrial, security and aerospace. With 8,000 employees worldwide, the company had sales revenue of approximately $1.5 billion in 2006. The European headquarters for Belden is located in Venlo, Netherlands.

With the recent acquisition of Hirschmann Automation and Control and now Lumberg Automation Components, Belden is well positioned as a market leader in the manufacturing, marketing, and sale of industrial automation connectivity products worldwide. It is anticipated that the Lumberg Automation Components acquisition will be completed in June or July of 2007.
