Bernecker + Rainer Introduces All-Purpose Connection For The X67 I/O System

Profibus DP and CANopen bus controllers make the world of open fieldbus systems accessible to the B&R X67 I/O System. This allows IP67 modules to be used in the entire automation project independently of the controller

Connecting the modular X67 system anywhere using device master files for Profibus DP or EDS files (Electronic Data Sheet) for CANopen is no problem. Bus controllers have 8 M8 connectors onboard for sensors and actuators. This allows each channel to be configured either as an input or an output. In addition, the devices offer the possibility of expanding to include all digital, analog, or other modules from the X67 I/O system program. The distance between two modules can reach up to 100 meters to allow cabling to be optimized for every application.

Freely accessible node number switches in the IP67, the best possible fieldbus performance and efficiency, and automatic baud rate detection are additional features of Profibus DP and CANopen devices. During development, special emphasis was given to diagnostic possibilities: Different operating states are indicated both directly on the module (LEDs) or with various status analyses via the fieldbus. This minimizes commissioning and service costs in the field.
