SWEDEN – Botech AB, the software development company for web-based supervision, has released the Linux version of their web-based SCADA system, Greyhoundâ. Since 1998 Botech AB has continued to connect buildings and processes to the Internet. Everyone knows that Linux is free software, i.e. the O/S is free and drivers are available for anyone to use.

What you pay for is the application built upon these free “brick stones”. With an increasing number of these free specialised “brick stones” there is no stop to the applications you can develop and enhance. For our customers this is an important issue when choosing the platform for their future-secured automation solutions, says Robert Holmström, Export Manager at Botech AB.A very good example of this is the Linux version of our framework Greyhoundâ. We have made a smaller version of the Greyhoundâ but still with the functions of the full version.

This Linux version we have installed on an embedded industrial computer. We know, Robert continues, that all companies are looking for new ways of cutting costs and finding a new route to the market. We have chosen Linux to be on the edge in this evolution towards new markets. We feel that the Linux way is the way to the future and not only to future sales but also to sales today.Would you also like to take the Linux route? The Linux version of our Greyhoundâ framework is available today by using Hubitâ powered by Greyhound.

Contact us for further details and how we also could implement Greyhoundâ into your hardware.Botech AB www.botech.se .
