B&R has implemented the IEC 61131-3 functions defined and standardized by PLCopen for motion control for both single-axis functions as well as the multi-axis variants. This software has already been implemented successfully in several projects, certifying it according to PLCopen guidelines. Applications like flying saws, multi-axis cam profiles, gantry applications, etc. can now be easily implemented using function blocks that are fewer in number and much more efficient. ETHERNET Powerlink handles the communication to the individual axes, guaranteeing the highest degree of precision for the entire drive system as well as outstanding accuracy for the product being manufactured.
