August 18, 2010 - Bud Industries announced the stainless steel SNB sheet-metal box. Constructed of 16 ga. 304 stainless steel, the NEMA box is ideal for harsh environments and applications where sturdy steel, security, and a seal against moisture are required.Like other enclosures in Bud's NEMA box line, the stainless steel SNB is suitable for use in a broad range of outdoor applications such as wind turbines and solar power systems, as well as for housing industrial controls in wash-down, marine, and corrosive environments such as in the food or medical industries.

The SNB Series is part of Bud's complete range of electronics enclosures including cabinet racks, aluminum enclosures, and plastic NEMA boxes.Care has been taken in the design of this NEMA box to maximize protection of sensitive electronics and critical electrical controls. The SNB Series has continuous welded seams and a hinged cover that has a water-tight seal. The hinged cover clamps to the base with a keyed quarter-turn latch that requires a non-traditional key for added security. External mounting brackets allow the box to be mounted on a wall or panel without having to remove the cover and expose internal components to the environment.

The enclosure is designed to meet the requirements of NEMA 1, 2, 4, 4X, 12 and 13. UL listing is pending. Bud's NEMA box includes a steel mounting panel that most other vendors supply at additional cost. It has a stainless steel hinge and all stainless steel hardware.

Available in 13 sizes ranging from 9.84 × 5.91 × 5.91 inches to 15.75 × 12.01 × 7.87 inches, the boxes are easily machined and modified.

Bud is more willing than some enclosure manufacturers to make modifications, such as custom cutouts that allow for meter readout and cable entry.
