April 16th, 2004 – Buffalo Grove, IL - Carlo Gavazzi has released a new series of miniature photoelectric sensors with advanced features, including simplified push button Teach Mode setup. The powerful microprocessor and optics of the PD32 Series provide an advanced technology with long sensing ranges in a compact housing. All features of the sensor are accessed via a single push button, which eliminates the need for trial-and-error setup that is typically encountered with potentiometers. These features include: programming the sensor to recognize objects, setting the sensing range, and inverting the output. The sensor also allows for Dynamic Teach Mode, in which the sensor can be programmed while the application is running.

All functions of the push button can also be accessed remotely, via a remote ‘teach wire’ included in the sensor. This feature allows the sensor to be mounted in tight, difficult to reach spaces, but still allow the machine operator full access to programming the sensor. The sensors are available in either NPN or PNP transistor outputs, with 10-30 VDC power supply, and an operating speed of 1000 Hz. The LEDs, which indicate output status and signal strength, are positioned for maximum visibility at most viewing angles.

Sensing ranges are 500mm for diffuse, 2.5m for polarized retro-reflective, and 6m for through beam. A background suppression model with 120mm range, and a clear object detection model with 500mm range are also available. Housing size is 32 mm x 12 mm x 20 mm.

List prices start at $110.CARLO GAVAZZI Automation Components750 Hastings LaneBuffalo Grove, IL 60089Phone: 847.465.6100Fax: 800.222.2659Email: [email protected] Website: www.GavazziOnline.com
