With FastApp, HVAC motor control parameters are now easier to set up via the keypad on the drive enclosure.

May 7, 2012 - Cerus Industrial ehanced P-Series variable frequency drives (VFDs) for HVAC use with FastApp commissioning tool, designed to save time when setting up a wide range of HVAC applications. With FastApp, HVAC motor control parameters are now easier to set up via the keypad on the drive enclosure, and now include a multitude of display and control options: PSI, degrees F, degrees C, inWC, inM, Bar, mBar, Pa, kPa, and custom factors, including level, line speed and other parameters. With this wider array of options, users around the world with different HVAC applications can easily set up their control systems. The enhanced VFDs also have safety features to protect motors from damage due to conditions such as belt loss.

If the Under Level Detection feature is selected and the motor runs at a speed above a set amount for longer than a set amount of time, and with the load current less than a set level, the VFD will trip. Another safety feature supports digital (on/off) control of the motor by a flow switch that prevents operation if the flow is blocked for some reason. Each P-Series VFD also provides a relay output to control a damper actuator. At every start command the VFD will activate an auxiliary relay to open a damper and then will start the fan motor after either a programmable Damper Delay has expired or if a Damper Switch input is activated. Cerus P-Series HVAC controllers are available in a range of packages from 1HP to 400HP.
