April 8, 2014 - Cisco announced IE 2000-IP67 Industrial Ethernet Switches that support Ethernet IP and PROFINET. The IE 2000-IP67 switches comply with many standardized industry specifications with regards to safety, stability, electromagnetic emissions, and more. These switches provide the capability to deliver high performance and reliability for data, video, and voice in extreme severe locations to enable business continuity.

IE 2000-IP67 switches are available with 8, 16, or 24 x 10/100BASE-T, fixed configuration Ethernet ports and 2 x Gigabit Ethernet ports. The switches provide M12 D-coded, X-coded, and a minichange dual-power connector in an industrial-hardened, wall-mountable form factor. Some models support Power over Ethernet (PoE) and PoE+, as well as support line-rate, hardware-enabled static network address translation (NAT) to easily connect complex Layer 2 and machine-node networks. With zero-touch discovery using Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP), express setup, and fast boot-up times, a user can easily migrate to all-IP-over-Ethernet networking environment. The solution is easy for operations staff to configure and manage.

The Cisco Auto Smart Port feature lets users configure the right quality-of-service (QoS) settings by automatically detecting the type of device connected to the port in seconds. It also allows secure web-based administration and easy integration with a network management system. These switches perform various security functions including port security, IEEE 802.1x user authentication, MAC address–based authentication, role-based access control and Cisco TrustSec security, and encrypted administrative traffic.
