Machine manufacturers will benefit from the synchronization of Cognex In-Sight products and the B&R control system, as well as easy integration with a wide range of machine designs.

March 13, 2011 - Cognex and B&R have entered a technological cooperation to add POWERLINK in the In-Sight line of vision products from Cognex.

Machine manufacturers will benefit not only from synchronization of Cognex In-Sight products and the B&R control system, they will also benefit from easy integration of a wide range of machine designs. The new vision solution is also highly compatible with all POWERLINK-based B&R product lines. The Cognex image processing systems for checking, identifying and feeding parts feature quick start-up times and a significantly reduced amount of wiring. This means considerable savings potential for the machine manufacturer and end-user. Extensive diagnostic options facilitate smooth operation of the high-resolution application in large-scale production facilities.

"The result of this cooperation is a complete solution that incorporates visualization, control and drive technology for high-speed and high-precision product monitoring in production line operation. The Cognex In-Sight product line is optimally integrated in the B&R System via POWERLINK," states Hans Wimmer, B&R Managing Director. B&R is a privately-held company in the area of automation equipment manufacturing, founded in 1979. Today, B&R employs 2,300 employees worldwide and has a global presence with more than 162 sales offices in over 68 countries.
