June 23, 2006 - The PH1013 1000-watt compact power supply with 24V / 40A and an enhanced, µC-controlled power boost supplies 80A for two seconds, either during the start-up phase or in full operation. In the event of a short circuit in one of these load currents, the aim is to isolate the faulty current as quickly as possible by activating the fuse, allowing for continued operation of the other currents on the 24V mains supply. MGV´s new Advanced Power Boost significantly improves the breaking capacity of fuses in 24V circuits. MGV has also taken a major step forward with the 150mm installation width offered by this 40A appliance. The competition is still producing widths of 200 mm and far more. In terms of mounting possibilities, the compact power supply proves to be an all-rounder, suitable for DIN-rails or wall mounting.
The integral fan allows for flexible installation depending on the application and for full-power operation at an ambient temperature of up to 60° C (still reach-ing 75% at 70° C). The new series includes a convenient 3-phase wide input range of 3x340 – 550 Vac.
Users can enjoy "all-round protection" thanks to numerous protective and safety devices, including primary and secondary-side overvoltage protection, overtemperature protection (even switches the power supply off should the fan ever become blocked), as well as protec-tion against overloading and sustained short-circuiting.Using the adjustable output range from 23.5 to 28.5V, it is also possible to charge a 24V ac-cumulator.
The new PH1013 series of power supplies has been approved in accordance with EN60950/UL60950 and is UL508 listed.MGV offers a wide range of DIN-rail power supplies with outputs of between 15 and 2000 watts.
