Valcor Engineering Corporation , a world-class designer and manufacturer of custom precision fluid controls for nuclear, space, aircraft, and scientific/industrial industries, has just released a new white paper on O-ring obsolescence, entitled “Managing Component Obsolescence in Nuclear Service Valves.” The white paper discusses existing obsolescence regulations and a recent example of the steps taken to handle such an event. Replacement of obsolete components can require extensive evaluation and testing to verify the replacement component meets the initial design and qualification requirements.
