Contrex's Precision Gear Tooth Encoder can now operate in severe industrial environments from -40°C to 125°C. The sensors are so robust that Contrex warrants their sensors for the life of the machine.Operating in 2X or Quadrature mode and sensing the 60 tooth gear results in 120 pulses per revolution.
This is typical at motor - not down stream on the machine after reductions.The “half tooth – half gap” precision gear tooth plus the sensor delivers a precise 50% duty cycle signal. Today's position and/or speed controller with modern 2X decoding (counting both leading and trailing edge) will register 240 events per revolution without resolution compromise. At a 10,000 RPM maximum, Contrex's encoders can deliver 40,000 evenly spaced edges per second.
