July 15, 2008 – Control Microsystems released the KR20, 900MHz spread spectrum radio.The KR20 is conveniently mounted within a SCADAPack controller lid with little change to the overall dimensions, making it the ideal solution when adding or retrofitting wireless communication into cramped enclosures.The KR20 uses the same advanced radio technology as the SCADAWave KR50 and shares many of its features including high speed data throughput up to 256Kbps, repeater functionality, multiple data streams and network bridging.
Like other SCADAWave radios, the KR20 radio is fully programmable, locally or remotely.The KR20 supports industry-standard DNP3, Modbus and IEC 870-5-101protocols and is certified for hazardous locations.The KR20 radio is optionally ordered as part of the SCADAPack controller and will begin shipping July 10th, 2008. “For customers requiring full featured radios, the Ultra KR20 provides an advanced solution in a tight package”, said Dale Symington, VP Product Strategy.
