Control See enhances U.C.ME-OPC software

Enhancements include an alarm import from iFix, a new alarm type for Citect, improved OPC connectivity, and tighter integration with SCADA/HMI applications.

Highlights of U.C.ME-OPC version 2007 are:

Tighter integration with SCADA/HMI applications

U.C.ME-OPC 2007 offers easy alarm import from iFix.

Previous versions of U.C.ME-OPC supported alarm import from: InTouch, RS-View, Cimplicity and Citect. In addition, new alarm type is supported for Citect – Advanced Alarms (for BitAnd expressions).

Improved Master-Standby mechanism

U.C.ME-OPC 2007 offers improved Master-Standby mechanism. In previous versions, the Master-Standby mechanism was based on one synchronization tag.

Based on the tag's value, the U.C.ME-OPC standby turned to Active or Passive mode. When working with multiple OPC servers or with multiple projects, one tag may not be sufficient.

U.C.ME-OPC 2007 offers multiple tag synchronization mechanism which improves Master-Standby applications.

Online alarm disabling and enabling

U.C.ME-OPC 2007 offers online alarm disabling and enabling.

Using previous versions, administrators needed to stop and start U.C.ME-OPC.

U.C.ME-OPC 2007 enables you to easily disable or enable alarms without having to stop and start U.C.ME-OPC.

Forwarding SMS messages from remote devices

Using a cellular modem, U.C.ME-OPC 2007 may receive SMS from remote devices.

These remote devices contain few digital inputs and are capable of sending short SMS messages (mostly to one phone number).Based on the caller-ID information that is included in the message, U.C.ME-OPC will send an equivalent message to a group of recipients.For example: The SMS message "MIN" is sent from a remote device A.

As a result U.C.ME-OPC will send another message (for example: "Water tank A, level is too low") to a group of recipients.

When the same message is sent from remote device B, U.C.ME-OPC may send another message (for example: "Water tank B, level is too low") to a group of recipients.

Alarms with string based condition

Defining alarms with string based condition may reduce the alarm maintenance effort. For example: the following alarm condition may remain the same even when the alarm limits are changes by the SCADA administrator. This feature is extremely helpful when using SCADA software that supports status string tags (such as Cimplicity).

Other new features

  • Support for Copy & Paste of shift instances.
  • Cellular SMS modem – automatic modem re-initialization after send failures.
  • Alarm inhibit functionality is also supported for the BASIC-SMS model.
  • Support for OPC tags with DWORD type (VT_I4).

These tags may hold large values such as 99,999,999.
