December 12, 2008 – Cooper Bussmann extended its Compact Circuit Protector (CCP) fused switch offering to include a Low-Peak CUBEFuse Class J performance version, increasing CCP capability up to 60A. The current limiting performance of a properly sized Low-Peak CUBEFuse unit also offers Type 2 (IEC 947-4-1) “No Damage” coordinated motor starter protection. In addition to its compact size and high short-circuit current rating (SCCR) of 200kA with a Class J CUBEFuse or Class CC fuse, the CCP also retains a full-voltage rating of 600Vac, providing more installation flexibility compared to slash-rated devices at 480/277Vac. In addition, the CCP is horsepower rated for protecting motor circuits, and UL 98 disconnect rated for the protection of branch circuits with Class J or Class CC fuses.
The CCP offers open-circuit indication both locally and remotely for fast troubleshooting and reduced downtime. To provide customers flexibility in their panel assemblies, both the remote indication accessory and the auxiliary contact can be used with the CCP Class CC or CUBEFuse versions. The Low-Peak CUBEFuse in conjunction with the Compact Circuit Protector provides a means to increase safety and assembly SCCR and provides selective coordination. With easy panel mounting made possible by the DIN rail mount, the CCP allows for a flexible installation without using a single tool. By extending the CCP up to 60A, Cooper Bussmann offers its customers more options and more protection, at a competitive price.
