ST. LOUIS, February 14, 2007 – Cooper Bussmann, Inc. is the new primary sponsor for the #63 NASCAR Craftsman Truck operated by MB Motorsports race team. The sponsorship is the first for Cooper Bussmann in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. “The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is a natural fit,” explains Bob Bender, vice-president marketing, Cooper Bussmann.
“It’s a high performance, high technology, and fast-paced sport. We want to reflect those same qualities with our new products and services, technical expertise, and emphasis on customer downtime reduction.”Cooper Bussmann will run a limited schedule of races including Dover, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Atlanta and Homestead-Miami. “NASCAR is the fastest growing spectator sport in North America,” Bender added.
“It’s an exciting venue for our distributors to host their customers.”MB Motorsports, based in Wright City, Missouri, is owned and operated by Mittler Brothers Machine & Tool Company, producer’s world-class products and tools for race car/truck fabrication. Mike Mittler and team manager Bill Politsh are veterans of racing and have had many formidable drivers in their stable. Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray, Mike Wallace and the late Tony Roper have all driven for the Mittler Brothers. MB Motorsports has acquired the services of driver Scott Lynch to drive the #63 truck.
Scott, 27, is a native of Boise, Idaho, and is a graduate of the University of Utah. He has been racing since 1995. Lynch’s career highlights include 2003 NASCAR Winston Series West Champion and 2003 Winston Series West Rookie of the Year. Lynch has started nine NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events with four top 20 finishes. While widely known in the southwest and western racing circuits, Lynch intends to make his presence known on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series driving a full race schedule for MB Motorsports.
