CSWorks adds Windows Phone 7 support to its HMI software

12 February, 2011
Windows Phone 7 support allows operators and managers to check equipment status and monitor production activities from smartphones.

February 12, 2011 - CSWorks released version 1.7.4050.0 of its solution development framework that allows industrial automation developers to build web-based HMI/SCADA applications that run on various devices and desktop operating systems without any modifications. This version introduces Windows Phone 7 support for client applications.

Now developers can create powerful monitoring applications that run on Windows Phone 7-powered devices and allow:

  • remote backup operators to take immediate action upon receiving alarm notifications via SMS;
  • senior management to gain quick access to important information around the clock from any location using their smartphones;
  • plant managers to check equipment status and monitor production activities even when it is late at night or when the roads are bad due to weather conditions.

Phone applications can access real-time and historical data from remote locations without compromising security and display it using CSWorks control library UI elements or third-party controls. CSWorks client application developers can use Microsoft Silverlight graphics engine to integrate multimedia, graphics, animations and interactivity into a single runtime environment.
